In today’s world, it’s an unfortunate reality that knife-related incidents can occur in or around schools and youth environments. This specialist first aid training course is designed to empower school staff, youth workers, and safeguarding leads with the skills and confidence to respond effectively in the event of a stabbing or catastrophic bleed—potentially saving a life before emergency services arrive.

This sensitive but essential half-day course focuses on practical, scenario-based learning tailored to educational settings.

• Understanding the nature and risks of knife incidents
• Catastrophic bleeding control
• How to apply tourniquets and haemostatic dressings (commercial and improvised)
• Imbedded objects
• Managing trauma scenes in school settings
• Communicating with emergency services
• Supporting the scene until EMS arrives
• Brief discussion on the emotional impact and safeguarding
