Description

The First Aid at Work – Plus Forestry  course provides comprehensive first aid training tailored specifically for forestry and arboriculture environments. Designed for teams working with chainsaws, machinery, remote sites, and high-risk tasks, this course builds the confidence and competence needed to respond quickly and safely when incidents occur.

Participants learn how to assess casualties, manage catastrophic bleeding, treat crush and chainsaw injuries, and make safe decisions in remote or woodland environments. This course ensures your forestry team can deliver immediate, effective first aid until emergency services arrive.

What You’ll Learn

Core First Aid Skills

  • Primary and secondary survey

  • CPR & AED use

  • Catastrophic haemorrhage control

  • Fractures, crush injuries & burns

  • Medical emergencies (collapse, cardiac, stroke, hypothermia)

  • Minor and major injury management

Forestry-Specific Content

  • Chainsaw and machinery injuries

  • Falls from height and suspended casualties

  • Crush injuries from timber or equipment

  • Remote casualty care & delayed ambulance response

  • Lone worker first aid planning

  • Hypothermia, heat illness & environmental exposure
