This Sports First Aid Level 3 course is designed for those involved in sport who need the skills to respond quickly and effectively to injuries and medical emergencies. It covers both essential first aid and sport-specific incidents, including soft tissue injuries, head injuries, cuts and common illnesses that may occur during sporting activity.

Course Overview
In sport, injuries happen fast — and the first few minutes matter.
This one-day Sports First Aid Level 3 course is designed to give coaches, sports staff and volunteers the confidence and skills to respond effectively to injuries and medical emergencies on the pitch, court or training ground.
This course can be spread out over two sessions on different days/weeks if required. Or delivered on a Saturday or Sunday. (But not during the rugby season! Dave will be coaching)
The course combines essential first aid skills with sport-specific injury management, helping you deal with everything from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies in a practical, hands-on environment.

Emergency Response Skills
- Scene safety and dynamic risk assessment
- Primary survey (DRCABCDE approach)
- Calling for help and managing the scene
- Managing an unresponsive casualty
Life-Saving Skills
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Choking management
Injury Management
- Bleeding control and wound care
- Soft tissue injuries (sprains, strains, muscle injuries)
- Fractures and suspected spinal injuries
- Cuts, grazes and minor injuries
Sports-Specific Content
- Head injuries and concussion awareness
- Return-to-play considerations (basic awareness)
- Managing injuries during training and matches
- Pitch-side decision making
Medical Conditions
- Shock
- Seizures
- Asthma and breathing difficulties
- Other common conditions in sport
DAC Scenario-Based Training
This isn’t all a classroom-only course.
You’ll take part in realistic, practical scenarios designed to reflect what actually happens in sport, such as:
- Player collapse during a match
- Head injury following a tackle
- Severe bleeding on the pitch
- Unresponsive casualty during training
Our approach ensures you don’t just know what to do — you can actually do it when it matters.
