Having worked with learners in Suffolk, Norfolk and across the UK and in fact the world for years, we use our extensive knowledge to deliver outdoor first aid, safety and Leadership courses that prepare you for the unpredictable challenges of the wild.
Your learning on these outdoor first aid courses, leadership and the safety courses will be grounded in practical, real-world scenarios. We offer two main outdoor first aid training courses, a one day and a two day, both are taught by the MD of DAC Education who has 18 years experience leading expeditions all over the world, 21 years of Duke of Edinburgh experience and 12 years of Search and Rescue volunteering. He is also a Community First Responder for his local area. He really does have the experience and knowledge of dealing with emergency situations outdoors.
Due to the real-life experience of our instructors, we are able to tailor the course to your specific needs and leave some time to talk about any specific situations you would like to learn about.
What is an outdoor first aid course?
These outdoor courses are for anyone who works or plays in the unpredictable outdoors. We have taught this course to ecologists, mountain leaders, expedition leaders, water sports instructors, DofE supervisors, Cub Scout leaders, adventure enthusiasts, hikers and many more.

This is the 16 hour 2 day outdoor first aid course and covers primary and secondary care adapted to the outdoor world where the emergency services may be harder to access. It covers the essentials of managing immediate and potentially life threatening incidents in a systematic manner.
This is the main course required by most national governing bodies in the outdoor industry to go along side you instructing qualification.
This first aid training is ideal and suitable for meeting the requirements of most UK national outdoor pursuits leadership qualifications, Duke of Edinburgh award schemes and Worldwide walk leaders plus many more.
This course will cover primary care adapted to the outdoor world where the emergency services may be harder to access. Ideal for those wishing to spend time outdoors but don't required the full 2 today course. This course covers the essentials of managing immediate, potentially life threatening incidents in a systematic manner. Including cardiac arrest, choking and bleeding control all while teaching you how to deal with these situations in an outdoor environment far from help.
There are times when an adventure leader needs to have the skill set to understand and guide a person. DAC Education has developed this course from our MD's years of leading expeditions all over the world. Designed to give expedition and adventure leaders an understanding of different conditions and how to support mental health in remote settings.
This course is for those wishing to be a lowland leader, formally known as BELA and BEL this course provides skills and experience for those wanting to lead expedition groups and train participants to undertake their own self-sufficient expeditions. Delivered by a World Expedition leaders with years of experience leading groups in worldwide expeditions, this course will ensure you know all the tricks and tips and will help develop your hard and soft skills of leadership.
This course is not about going in the water, in fact its exactly the opposite! This course teaches you to understand the hazards, be able to risk assess, management around the water margins, water safety issues and basic rescue techniques, plus the effects and management of cold water immersion.
Our Outdoor First Aid courses are suitable for those who work in or as part of a team in an outdoor environment. For example, a team of ecologists will work in unpredictable environments, mud, sand, bodies of water, in and around unsafe buildings.
